9大巨頭公司造了一個(gè)新總線

為了提供數(shù)據(jù)中心的數(shù)據(jù)傳輸性能,Alibaba, Cisco, Dell, Facebook, Google, HP, Huawei,Intel和Microsoft 一起發(fā)布了新一代互連總線 CXL(Compute Express Link)。

不知這是不是巧合,正好昨天NVIDIA發(fā)布并購(gòu)Mellanox,Intel就發(fā)布了CXL總線。

CXL是一個(gè)基于PCIe Gen5的標(biāo)準(zhǔn),旨在解決下一代產(chǎn)品中的緩存一致性和互連問(wèn)題。UPI應(yīng)用于Intel的CPU之間,解決不了CPU與其它芯片的連接問(wèn)題(有的人肯定會(huì)想,PCIE不就可以么)。隨著公司和業(yè)界擴(kuò)展到采用GPU、FPGA和其它加速器,對(duì)更廣泛和更快的互連的需求已經(jīng)成為一個(gè)更大的行業(yè)主題。

下面是從CXL官網(wǎng)上看到的內(nèi)容,對(duì)CXL做了一個(gè)簡(jiǎn)短的介紹:
